Berayan is 14 years old boy who had recently emigrated from Iran to the United States from Iran. He had a condition called Spina Bifida with spinal cord dysfunction causing him to be wheelchair ridden with difficulties in bladder and bowel control.

Berayan was spotted in one of the local Assyrian picnics in his wheelchair when he was approached by the Chairman of Assyrian Medical Society. His efforts materialized in Berayan being seen and evaluated at the Shriners Hospital of LA.

Berayan was treated for chronic urinary tract infection; measurements were taken for him to have better bladder and bowel control. He is already set for future appointments for follow up and for rehabilitation with crutches, all on charity basis.
