Versen is 16 years old Iraqi refugee in Syria who suffered right wrist fracture that was repaired surgically Open reduction and internal fixation using plates and screws). The fracture has healed but the patient continues to complain of pain at the site of the hardware. He was seen by an orthopedic surgeon and decision was made to have the hardware removed.

The patient was referred to the Assyrian Medical Society by the AAS-Syria. The Medical Relief Project of the AMS has approved his care and the surgery was successfully performed in October 2009 at a cost of (15, 500 SL).
