Samir Naji
Age: 17
Diagnosis: Loss of legs
Place of origin: Iraq
Story:
Samir is a 17 years old male who was the victim of a mine explosion in Iraq. He sustained multiple injuries that led to left above knee amputation and dropped right foot with loss of sensation that precludes his ability to walk. Due to lack of resources and expertise in Iraq, he was brought to the United States of America for re-do surgeries to condition his limbs for proper prosthetics to be followed by rehabilitation.
He is currently under treatment at the Shriners Hospital of LA that had accepted his treatment on charity basis. The AMS had covered all the expenses of travel, lodging, daily needs until the treatment is completed and he is ready to travel back to Iraq.
We would like to express our gratitude to the Shriners Hospital of LA and its staff for their generosity and care. |
